On Monday 5 October 2026 the DIFC Family Wealth Centre (DFWC) and the Arab International Women's Forum (AIWF) convened business leaders from across the region at Dubai International Financial Centre for a roundtable and networking event titled “Women-Led Family Business in the Global Economy”, held as part of AIWF's 25th-anniversary programme. The convening examined the evolving role of women as leaders within family-owned enterprises across the region and in the global economy — leadership, legacy and transformation in established family businesses, succession and next-generation readiness, and women's representation on family and corporate boards. His Excellency Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of DIFC Authority, welcomed key guests ahead of the event; Haifa Al Kaylani OBE, President and Founder of AIWF, gave opening remarks reflecting on 25 years of AIWF's work; Abdullah Jefri, Division Director GCC at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), delivered the Guest of Honour keynote; and HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, a founder Board Member of AIWF and former UAE minister, was welcomed as Guest of Honour. During the event DFWC launched the Women in Family Leadership and Governance Programme in collaboration with Hawkamah and AIWF, aimed at advancing women's participation in family-business governance and greater representation of women on family and corporate boards.
